The Omologist Mandate
What we change without asking, what we ask about first, and what we never touch. This page is attached to every quote; paying the quote is accepting it.
Who this is for. “You” is the customer who paid the quote: an agency managing an account for its client, or a business buying direct. “The account” is the Google Ads account named in the quote. An agency is responsible for its client’s authorisation of everything on this page; the client has no relationship with Omologist.
1. Your budget
You set one number: the account’s monthly Google Ads budget, for the calendar month. We run the account to it.
- Daily budgets are set at your monthly budget divided by 30.4, split across the campaigns. The account’s daily budgets always add up to that figure.
- Google may spend up to twice a daily budget on a busy day and makes it up on quiet ones, and it caps each campaign’s monthly charge at its daily budget times 30.4. Overs and unders against your monthly figure should be small.
- If spend for the month reaches your monthly budget before the month ends, we pause the campaigns and they restart at midnight on the 1st. You are told when it happens.
- Around the 23rd of each month we email you to confirm next month’s budget, with the numbers behind it. Ignore the email and the budget stays as it is. Enter a new figure and it applies in the account, and to the fee, from the 1st. That email is how the budget changes; we never raise it ourselves.
2. What we change without asking
Inside the account, we make these changes as the data calls for them. Each one is logged with its reason and appears in your monthly report.
- Bids. Keyword bids, ad group default bids and bid adjustments, inside the bidding strategy that was set at launch.
- Budget between campaigns. Moving daily budget from one campaign to another, with the total unchanged.
- Negative keywords. Adding and removing them at campaign and ad group level, and on the shared negative list.
- Ad copy. Writing, editing, pausing and replacing headlines, descriptions, sitelinks, callouts and other assets, using only the facts you approved in the brief.
- Ad and keyword status. Pausing or enabling individual ads, keywords and ad groups.
- Ad group structure. Adding, splitting and merging ad groups inside an existing campaign.
- Launching on schedule. Enabling the Search campaigns the quote named on the launch date, and Shopping for an ecommerce account once the Merchant Center feed passes. These are inside the mandate because you bought them.
- Conversion tracking repairs. Fixing a tag or trigger that has stopped firing, so it does what it did before. No new conversion actions and no change to what counts as a lead.
3. What we ask you first
These arrive as one email with a yes and a no button and a deadline. If we hear nothing by the deadline, the default is to do nothing and the account carries on as it is.
- A change to the monthly budget that we think the account needs. (Your own changes go through the monthly confirmation email in section 1.)
- Pausing a whole campaign, except on the scheduled launch of its replacement in a takeover.
- Adding a campaign type the quote did not name: Performance Max, Demand Gen, Display, Video. Performance Max is only ever suggested once the account is producing at least 30 conversions a month, because below that it has too little to learn from; most accounts stay Search.
- Changing the bidding strategy.
- Changing conversion actions: adding one, removing one, changing which are primary, or changing a value.
- Changing locations or languages beyond radius and bid adjustments.
- Rebuilding tracking after a site redesign, because that is a new tracking build at the menu price.
Deadline: five business days from the email. Expect a handful of these a year, not a workflow.
4. What we never touch
- Billing. The payment method, the invoicing setup and the budget-order settings on the account are yours. Ad spend is paid by you to Google, never through Omologist.
- Users and access. We never add, remove or change users, managers or access on the account, GTM or GA4. We use the one login or manager link you granted and nothing else.
- Your website. Nothing beyond the GTM container. Page changes, thank-you pages, plugins and forms go to your developer with a written spec; we do not log in to your CMS unless the quote said the plugin route needs it, and then only to install the container.
- Other accounts. We see and work on the account named in the quote and no other.
- Merchant Center, GA4 and other platforms. Read-only, for the report, unless a menu line says otherwise.
5. How you hear about changes
- Monthly report, on the 1st. For the calendar month just ended, the same month as your Google invoice: every change made, grouped by type, in plain English, with what it was before, what it is now and why. What it did. What we are watching next month. What we left alone and why. What you told us since the last report and what we did with it. For agencies it carries your branding and no Omologist name, as a PDF and an editable Doc you can forward or lift from.
- First report. On the 1st after your launch month, covering launch day to the end of that month.
- Scheduled emails. Paid, tracking verified (with the test screenshots), campaigns launched, budget confirmation, report ready, budget reached, payment issue, handover. Nothing else, unless something is outside the mandate.
- Nothing weekly. Changes are not reported as they happen. The log is complete and the report is the record.
6. How we work together
- No calls. There is no phone number and no meetings. The quote, the emails and the report are the service.
- Short emails, in one place. The fee is low because the work is systematic, and long email threads are the thing that would make it expensive. Anything you want us to know, consider or change goes in a reply to the report email. It is logged against the account, acted on if it is inside the mandate or sent back as a yes-or-no question if it is not, answered briefly, and the next report says what was done with it. One reply, one log entry, one line in the report.
- Email, one business day. [email protected]. Every reply is one of three things: when the answer is in the next report, a yes-or-no question for something outside the mandate, or a pointer to who does the thing we do not.
- Your client never emails us. If an agency’s client writes to us, the reply goes to the agency.
- Holidays. The scheduled changes and emails run without anyone. Monitoring alerts queue. The inbox auto-reply gives the return date and the next report date. Nothing stops.
7. The fee
Our fee is a percentage of the monthly budget you set, charged in advance on the 1st of each month for that month. The first month is paid with the setup: it covers launch day to the end of the launch month, and if fewer than seven days of that month remain at launch, the following month as well. Each charge on the 1st is calculated on the budget confirmed, or left unchanged, in that month’s confirmation email. It is not adjusted for what Google actually charged: no extra for overs, no refund for unders.
8. Out of scope
Anything not listed in section 2 is either in section 3 or not something we do. Not something we do: landing pages and website changes, SEO, social and other channels, creative production beyond ad text, offline or CRM conversion imports unless quoted, advice on anything outside the account, and anything on a second website or second account (that is a second quote).
9. If we are ever wrong
Every change in the log can be rolled back to its before value, and the log records that too. Tell us which one and we reverse it the same business day.
